چکیده
Abstract Background Anterior decompression with fusion (ADF) has often been performed for degenerative cervical myelopathy (DCM) in patients poor spine alignment and/or anterior cord compression. We aimed to identify clinical and radiological predictors associated neurological recovery after ADF. Methods This post-hoc analysis from a prospective multicenter study included who were scheduled ADF DCM. The received other surgeries (laminoplasty, posterior fusion) excluded. associations between baseline radiographic variables (age, sex, body mass index, etiology, lordosis, range of motion, C7 slope, C2-7 sagittal vertical axis [SVA], thoracic kyphosis [TK], lumbar sacral SVA, pelvic tilt, T1 angle [TPA], the Japanese Orthopedic Association score assessment [C-JOA], European Quality Life Five Dimensions Scale [EQ-5D], Neck Disability Index [NDI], Physical Component Summary SF-36 [PCS], Mental SF-36) rates as outcome investigated univariate regression analysis. Then, independent increased evaluated using stepwise multiple Results In total, 37 completed 1 year follow-up. rate was significantly correlated SVA (p = 0.001) TPA 0.03). Univariate analyses showed that age (Regression coefficient ? 0.92, p 0.049), 0.57, 0.004) PCS 0.80, 0.03) rate. identified TK ( 0.01), 0.03), According this prediction model, following equation obtained: 8.26 + 1.17 × (TK) 0.45 (SVA) 0.85 (PCS) 0.002, R 2 0.44). Conclusion Patients lower TK, score, higher more likely have Therefore, DCM these undergo should be warned about required provide adequate informed consent.

[Neurological recovery after cervical cord decompression for canal stenosis myelopathy].
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY Progressive myelopathy secondary to stenosis of the spinal canal is generally treated by surgery. Results of surgical decompression are generally good but the pattern of neurological recovery has not been studied. We followed a cohort of patients who underwent cervical cord decompression to study the course of neurological recovery. MATERIAL AND METHODS The study cohort i...

We conducted a study to evaluate the operative details, perioperative complications, and short-term outcomes associated with combined anterior-posterior decompression and fusion (CAPDF) for treating cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). We retrospectively reviewed the charts of 21 patients who underwent CAPDF at our institution. Pertinent information, including demographics, surgery indication...

متن کاملCervical spondylotic myelopathy associated with kyphosis or sagittal sigmoid alignment: outcome after anterior or posterior decompression.
OBJECT The effects of sagittal kyphotic deformities or mechanical stress on the development of cervical spondylotic myelopathy, or the reduction and fusion of kyphotic sagittal alignment have not been consistently documented. The aim in this study was to determine the effects of kyphotic sagittal alignment of the cervical spine in terms of neurological morbidity and outcome after 2 types of sur...
